Crash in Logan Square leaves One Woman Dead
Posted on January 06,2013 in Personal Injury
A sixty-seven year old woman was travelling with her daughter in the Logan Square neighborhood of Chicago on Christmas morning. As they were travelling south near the 2600 block of North Pulaski Road, they were hit by a Chevrolet Blazer traveling in the wrong lane. Obduila Villalobos was in the backseat of the Volkswagen Golf while her twenty 5 year old daughter and a twenty-5 year old man were in the front seat.
The
car accident occurred slightly before 5 am. When Obduila's daughter saw the SUV crossing into her lane, she made an attempt to swerve out of the way. The result was that the passenger side of the Golf was hit squarely by the Blazer. The Blazer ran off without stopping and rendering aid, and was later found by the Chicago Police Department a short while after the accident.
Obdulia was transported to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center with her daughter. While the daughter is not reported to have any injuries, the mother was critically injured in the accident. She was declared dead by the
Cook County Medical Examiner's Office at 5:18 am. The man in the front seat refused any medical attention.
The holidays are meant to be spent with family which makes this accident especially tragic. While nothing can reverse the injuries suffered in an accident, a
personal injury suit may alleviate some of the financial damage of medical bills, lost paychecks and emotional suffering. Contact
