Crash Sends Three to Hospital | Illinois Personal Injury Attorney

A car crash that involved two taxi cabs and a third vehicle sent three people to the hospital and ended with the driver of one of those taxis receiving a citation for causing the accident. According to a report on CBS Chicago, the accident occurred on Feb. 9 at 2:15 a.m. at a busy Lincoln Park intersection. A Ford Crown Victoria taxicab was southbound on Halsted Street and attempting to make a left-hand turn onto Fullerton Avenue. A Subaru that was heading west on Fullerton struck the Ford. The Subaru then veered into a Toyota Camry taxicab that had been behind the Ford. The Toyota was also waiting to take a left hand turn onto Fullerton. A 23 year old man and a 24 year old woman were passengers in the Ford taxi. Police reported they were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital. The 22 year old Subaru driver was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. After first being transferred, all three victims were listed as being in serious or critical condition. Police later said that the two victims who were transferred to Northwestern Memorial had minor injuries and were expected to be treated and released. The driver of the Subaru was listed in stable condition. All three cars needed to be towed from the scene. Police cited the 61 year old driver of the Ford with failure to yield while taking a left hand turn. They also are continuing to investigate the accident further, awaiting test results of the Subaru driver to determine if he was impaired at the time of the crash.
