Six people injured in crash

Posted on January 09,2013 in Personal Injury

Chicago started the new year with a bang, unfortunately, when six people were injured in a car crash on January 2. Authorities said the crash happened in the East Garfield Park area at around 9 in the evening. The chtribune reported a story on this traffic accident. Police told the media that a van hit an SUV near Homan Avenue and Franklin Boulevard. At least one of the vehicles rolled over in the 9 p.m. crash, according to police. The traumatic accident sent the 30-year-old driver of the van and her passenger, 35, to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County for treatment. Another victim, 24, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital. The 25-year-old driver of the SUV involved in the crash was taken to Stroger Hospital, but his male passenger, 24, was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital for his treatment. According to the fire department, all five left the scene of the accident for the hospitals in critical condition. Police said a sixth person was also injured in the crash, but that person was not taken to a hospital. The five who were taken to hospitals are reportedly in stable condition by now. Chicago sees a lot of injuries annually, and 2013 is likely to follow the pattern.
